ART SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR THE CLASS

As it would be far too costly for parents to go out and purchase everything needed for this class (art pencils, Prismacolor colored pencils, Prismacolor pastels, charcoal, blenders, battery operated erasers and sharpeners, drawing paper, artist quality glue sticks, artist quality scissors, Cardstock paper, acrylic paints, acrylic paint brushes, painting paper, artist quality permanent colored markers, cork backed rulers, drafting templates, several sheets of black matt paper, etc), a one time Art Fee donation of $15 per child per semester ($30 for the entire year) is requested.  As no child will ever be excluded from doing any art project because of financial hardship, if you are able to contribute more than just your child's art fee to help cover the cost of another student's art fee, it would be greatly appreciated.

*Students will need to bring a hand towel, which they will use with several mediums, thereby making this towel unuseable for anything else at the end of the class.

AN INNOVATIVE AND QUALITY ADVANCED ART COLLEGE LEVEL PROGRAM AT THE MIDDLE SCHOOL LEVEL

ADVANCED ART- is a 40 week, Fall and Spring Semester, school year long course for 8th grade students.  This class builds on the skills and concepts students learned in my General Art classes, and teaches students skills and concepts they would normally have to wait until college to learn.

Students in this class will learn the principles and elements of design, how to draw the entire human body, color balance, visual passageways, how to capture a light source, 12 painting techniques, different types of paint styles, multiple collage techniques, ink, graphite, colored pencil, and pastel techniques, as well as, design layout, typography, composition, and sculpture techniques in wire, clay, and different forms of paper.  Students in Advanced Art will learn how to matt their work and will come out of this class with a full artist portfolio.

As this class does require teacher approval to gain entrance into the class, students who did not take General Art, may schedule an appointment for me to view their artwork.  No cartooning is to be included in artwork for me to view.
